Michael is an award-winning playwright living outside of Boston, Massachusetts. His dramas, mysteries and thrillers have been produced in Virginia; Maryland; New Jersey; Kentucky; San Antonio; as well as Boston and Boylston, Massachusetts; and New York City. Although he has written screenplays and a few short stage plays, Michael has concentrated on writing full-length dramas for the stage. While dramatic action and audience enjoyment drive his plays, Michael dedicates his efforts to peopling the stage with, and creating powerful roles for, female characters who have important things to say and do. That said, for 2022-23, he is putting his dramatic writing on hold while he is completing work on his first novel.
He has been an actor, director and producer in professional theatre for forty-five years including seven years as the Artistic Director of the Summer Theatre at Mt. Holyoke and four years as Associate Producer and Artistic Director of Foothills Theatre Company in Worcester, MA. He is currently the Literary Manager and Dramaturg for Studio Theatre Worcester. He holds a BA in Theatre Arts from UMass (Amherst) and an MFA in Playwriting from Brandeis University. He is a member of Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas and the Dramatists Guild.
